An Evolving Life. Goldenrod
Goldenrod
Living in a perpetual present this year has been both a challenge and a gift. Without the ability to plan for the future, we’re left facing each day with more focus and yes, more gratitude.
Now with the threat of an even more transmissible strain of Covid on the loose and the tightening of travel restrictions, however, there seems to be no immediate end in sight to the isolation. So as temperatures plummeted earlier this week and the snowstorm kept me inside, my memory kicked in. I recalled the deep yellow of goldenrod and the variety of blue and green grasses carpeting the dunes at the end of summer here on the East End.
It is with these warm, colorful thoughts, I hope to brighten your spirits just a bit during this holiday weekend with this mixed media piece, Goldenrod, employing watercolor, pastel, marker and colored pencil.
When it’s difficult to reach out, reaching inward toward one’s imagination can work wonders!
Happy New Year!
