An Evolving Life. Change for Good

An Evolving Life. Change for Good

Change For Good

I can be a real scrooge, a cynic, even a party pooper at times. Holidays are just not my thing. Anything manufactured for the masses makes me uncomfortable. I’ve always preferred more intimate gatherings that form organically, and acts of sentiment that unfold spontaneously.

So when Mother’s Day rolls around each year—Hallmark’s mother-load—I hold my breath. I don’t want my daughters or my husband to feel pressure to buy gifts or send flowers. I don’t want my friends to feel obligated to send messages.

But this year was different. The pandemic seems to have wiped away all pretension. When I texted a friend on her birthday this week, she verbalized exactly what I’ve been noticing for weeks. There’s a purity in this time that we haven’t known before, she said.

Indeed, there is a “Change For Good” that seems to be spreading as quickly as the virus. Acts of kindness are truly kind. Acts of gratitude are truly grateful. And acts of love are nothing but love...

Here’s a watercolor of my Mother’s Day flowers from my husband called Pure reflecting the pure joy I felt upon receiving them this year.

If you or someone you know have noticed a change of attitude or lifestyle or found a new way of doing something— due to the limitations that the pandemic has inflicted upon us—that has changed life for Good, please let me know. I’m creating a Photo Essay with some text to document how “Change For Good” is germinating through personal stories.

That something can apply to any aspect of life from making money, food, clothing or shelter.....to stimulating the mind, body or soul…to appreciating loved ones, friends, neighbors or even yourselves…

Please write to me directly with some specifics by clicking here. Keep in mind that this project would involve me photographing you in your environment, probably outdoors. Of course, I will be masked and keep my distance.

I hope to hear from you!
