An Evolving Life. Who Knew?

Who Knew?

As we head into a new decade this week, I’m awed just by the sound and sight of 2020. I remember when the thought of the year 2000 sent shivers up and down my spine.

Who knew that encyclopedias would be replaced by a gadget so small that it could be stuffed into your pocket? Who knew that you could find anything you desire within seconds and it would arrive at your doorstep the next day? Who knew that cars would soon be driving themselves?

Yet despite all this progress, who knew it would be achieved at a cost to the earth we stand on? That at this moment glaciers would be melting in Antartica, fires would be raging in Australia, and seas would be rising here on Long Island?

Here’s Pink Sky from my SPLASH series; a reminder of the fragility of our planet; a kaleidoscope of color, contrast and creation.

With the impeachment of a madman stalled and a mock trial on the horizon, let’s take stock and pray for guidance. Let’s pray that somehow the twenties will foster renewal and hope for change in order for our Democracy and our World to stay the same.
