An Evolving Life. Gusto.
Gusto
As sultry summer days cooled off and morphed into September last week, a new energy took hold. After several weeks of art-hopping, biking, swimming, reading and basically taking it easy, productivity swept in like Hurricane Dorian.
As I’ve written before, it’s not easy to take some down time, to let oneself take life “one day at a time” without feeling guilty and/or downright lazy. But often, it’s exactly what we need. Whether we work in the arts, science or business, our creative souls need to go fallow in order to replenish and produce once again.
So with September looming last week, I was inspired to create two watercolors, one on Fire Island, one in my garden. Then I found myself dusting off my camera for two productive photographic outings—first in Greenport where I found an opportunity to add to my SPLASH series; and next in Williamsburg, Brooklyn where I visited Domino Park, a play fountain on the East River, and produced more images for my FOUNTAIN PLAY series.
After editing over 100 images taken within a three-hour span, here’s one called Gusto that I’m previewing here. In bright orange, she’s fearless, plunging head first back into the fray…
You can see more images by visiting FOUNTAIN PLAY TOO, just released on my website!!!
