Aunt Daisy is Coming! Episode 12
“That’s wonderful Jacob!” Betty Lou said.
“Read it to us Pa!” Willie said, just as excited.
“Just happen to have it right here.” And Jacob began to read,
Dearest Jacob,
It was with great pleasure that I received your letter! The doctors were amazed at the renewing of my good health. Once Uncle Harold found out I was better, he immediately insisted I be taken out of the facility that I was placed in when the Darwintons had no further use of me. You may remember his wife Aunt Genevieve, one of your favorites I believe, wink ,wink. Well, she died mysteriously after a fall while playing tennis they say and Uncle Harold instead of selling their large home thought I would like to take up residence in one part of it. And that I have done. I’m not getting any younger, but I am feeling rather well these days.
You ask about travel. And I think, yes! Remember the Morgan lady? The one whose husband died in a boating accident? To her dismay, she has yet to find a replacement husband and has decided to devote her life to travel instead. So, she has kindly agreed to be my traveling companion and we can come whenever it is convenient for you all. We can stay as long as you will have us. Looking forward to seeing you, your boy Willie, Betty Lou and the rest of your family.

Jacob looked at the surprised expressions on Betty Lou’s and Willie’s faces. “I know, I never would have imagined it either. She can travel and she will!”
And then, Jacob thought of the Morgan lady and couldn’t possibly imagine her surviving any length of time on a farm.
“The Morgan lady? Do we know her Pa?”
Jacob laughed. “A few years ago, she had thought of me as a young man and husband material. I believe she was blind and desperate at the time.”
“I see,” Betty Lou said, doing her best to keep her laughter down to an acceptable level.
Willie didn’t though and burst out laughing. “That’s real funny Pa. Can’t wait till she gets here. Where ya gonna hide from her, hmm?”
“Hide?” Jacob calmly replied, “Oh no, I’m gonna run!”
