Just Folks. See You Next Summer

Just Folks. See You Next Summer

See You Next Summer: Lamenting a bit after completing the "big switch."

The morning I woke up and saw this fan on the stool in front of the window, I felt inspired. Seeing the daylight coming in and highlighting the translucent blue propellers inside the fan's wire cage, I continued to stare. Gently, some of the highlights of a great summer started flowing back in. Going to our favorite spots at the ocean after work with a picnic dinner, working in the garden and sailing over to Fire Island with friends. Yes...I was feeling sad that the summer was now over, but also feeling grateful for the life I continue to share with my husband Bryan, and my friends, within the community where I live.

Editor's Note:  Tina's timing is impeccable. Here we are with a true Indian Summer stretch of days, while we face the end of Daylight Savings Time for 2017  on Sunday.  That tradition of changing closets from shorts, sundresses and t-shirts to our fall and winter clothes, and favorite sweaters;  summer blankets off the beds, and warmer quilts coming out of the trunks.  Fans away!! Surely it is a nice way to reflect upon the summer gone by.

It was one of the best I can remember.  I'm sad to see the summer go.  Don't forget to turn your clocks back!!  At least we can all enjoy that extra hour of sleep on Sunday morning...
