Hi Y'all.

Hi Y'all.

Thomas Wolfe said, “You Can’t Go Home Again,” but I must say in my case, that was not true.  I did come home again.  Charleston is seductive.  The gracious arms of the Live Oak trees bearing Spanish moss lure you home.

If you were born and raised in Charleston, coming home is easy and comfortable.  Of course, the “Holy City” is a lot different than it was when I left in 1969.  Charleston has been discovered and now bursts with excitement and rapid growth.

I lament some of the changes, but one aspect that does not change is the sheer beauty of my city.  Charleston is a jewel and like a jewel, it has many facets.

I’m Raina Rubin, born and bred in Charleston, SC and I would like to introduce you to the many layers of Charleston.  We will explore the history, the culture, the food, and the different neighborhoods within the city.  See Charleston through the eyes of one who went away and then came back home.
