And she is sure, she believes with all her heart, that everything is her fault.
There is so much she doesn’t understand yet.
Girl, set someone up as a god, you set yourself up for a fall.
She feels like a ghost and she watches the pieces (of herself) fly away.
She has no idea who she is without him.
And he’s made of stone, that one, empty eyes that reflect nothing.
See how she drinks too much, it lifts her up, but clouds the truth.
She thinks she is a better mother than a wife.
Oh foolish woman.
Friends invite her to dinner, to parties.
And she meets men, of course she does.
And she doesn’t care if she is being used - she needs the warmth of another body, eyes that tell her she is worth something.
Even if they lie.
And that’s how her life falls apart, spinning her into darkness.
And this is what she wants. To obliterate herself.
She can’t stop blaming herself for the marriage falling apart.
But she will over time, accept that there were two people in this marriage.
And that he is only an empty man, not a god.
Her path will be long and without light.
And she will live with the pain, the sorrow, and she misses him so much.
Until one day she doesn’t.
And she lives.
