Just Folks. When I Watch Him.
When I Watch Him.
ZACK the CAT.
Cats....for those of you who are cat people you understand...they are simple, curious, impish and for the most part easy to take care of because they are very independent. Zack, who we recently inherited from my sister Kim, is blind and deaf but still has a good deal of vitality at age 18.
In the morning, he joins us on the couch when we have breakfast on tray tables. Then afterwards, he'll move to the front door where there's just the right draft in the morning. Another spot he likes in the afternoon is the landing at the top of the stairs where the sun shines a small patch of fleeting light on the rug, making it ideal to nap in.
As simple as these habits sound, to me, Zack has mastered the joy of living in the moment. I never expected to be reminded of this wisdom from an 18 year-old cat!
