Game Changer!

Apparently, Snoopy is one step ahead of us in getting things squared away for the holidays.

I laughed heartily when I saw the cartoon below. But then I thought, wait a minute, this might be “a lesson” that can be applied to some of our holiday preps and planning.

For many of us, however much we love the holidays, the frenetic pace, the decorations, the buying, the decisions, the logistics, the Christmas cards, the tree—the whole megillah! — throws us into a tail spin, or at the least, off balance.

What if we were to do a little prep work now, on not taking on too much, not sweating the small stuff, not being so focused on “the perfect gift,” the perfect meal,” the perfect Christmas?” In other words, keeping our balance, going with the flow, and enjoying—maybe even loving—the true spirit and meaning of the holidays.

This could be a game changer! I recently read a piece in the NYT about how “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” the Peanuts special that debuted in 1965, is one of the finest Christmas shows ever made— for its artistry, its sense of community, its caring, and its search for the true meaning of Christmas. I have watched it— more than once— and I would agree. Have you seen it?

Sandra Novick

Somehow, the world cooperated as Sandra Novick steered and stumbled her career into a path that combined her interests and talents in the arts, writing, analytics and business. She admits to mostly loving her 20 years in the CMO position in banking, and to being a closet data geek. Website development called out to her, as it allowed her to integrate these disciplines. Sandra directed the development, design, infrastructure and functionality of several corporate sites.

Upon deciding to move on from banking to a new chapter, what better to do than merge professional and life challenges through founding and building a blog that would allow her to connect with and connect to each other, and you, many of the talented people she was able to surround herself with over the years?
