Sag Harbor 2023

Admittedly, we do everything backwards. EVERYONE has been asking us why we moved from the North Fork to Sag Harbor when "almost all others" making a migration are heading in the opposite direction, from the South Fork to the North.

So, aside from doing the opposite of the expected in most of our major life decisions (I offer up no logical rationale for that), here is a "since move in" photo gallery that spans our time here. It might help explain things a bit. Some photos are just prior to 2023--as we "lost" six months in our new home due to being flooded out last February. (Don't ask! It was such a mess, but that’s another story.)

The first photo is one of my all-time favorites. We tend to take photos of the "children," but not always our grown children. This first one, was taken as the sun was beginning to set on one of the last Sundays of the summer. It speaks to me, not only because it's a great photo of our family, but also because it captures the beauty and feeling of living out here, and how we yearn for just a little more summer as the days begin to get shorter and the nights get chilly. It also speaks to the way, even in the "flashy" Hamptons, one can feel like they are in a time-warp, when families kick off their shoes and have dinner and Smore’s at the beach, and the little ones take turns jumping from the lifeguard chair, playing games, and ultimately finding their way onto their parents laps, as they talk with their friends about life and other things... and maybe don't even talk at all.
