Local talent, Stephan Bogardus is in the running for the coveted 2018 James Beard Foundation Rising Star Chef of the Year award.  The 29 year-old Cutchogue native graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in 2009  and began his formal training under the tutelage of Gerry Hayden and Claudia Fleming at the North Fork Table & Inn.  After a brief stint in Rochester, the young executive chef returned to the North Fork after the passing of Hayden, his mentor, and hasn’t looked back since.  He has garnered a number of prestigious commendations as well as the opportunity to compete on Food Network's CHOPPED.  We are indeed fortunate on the North Fork  to have a young chef of this caliber serving as executive chef in one of our best local restaurants, and for him to be recognized by the prestigious James Beard Foundation as a Rising Star Chef.  We at Hummingbird will be supporting his bid.

If you would like to support his nomination too, you can do so easily by following the directions below.  Voting deadline is December 1, 2017.
