A Birthday Vignette.

LET US EAT CAKE!

Birthdays, birthdays, bring them on.
The more I have, the merrier I get.
Lately, my family gets together to celebrate a trifecta of birthdays.
In order, a grandson, a granddaughter and me.
The grandchildren are far more restrained than I am.
Brilliant! Fantastic! Excellent! Wowsa!
My words.
Despite my advancing age, I love my birthday!

Last year’s triple was great fun.
All the interaction: I thrive on it.
I croon, I swoon, I wax poetic.
And so it came to pass that I ate too much Thai food.
And suffered for it.
The cake with incredible buttercream layers?
I also ate too much and suffered for it.
But oh, it was worth it.
We all took a walk down to the brook, in the late afternoon.
It was a lovely walk.
Even in chilly April.
All is right with my world.
