We have this “germ” of an idea to chronicle this aspect of the news, journal style… starting “now!” We are not quite sure of the frequency yet, but we are thinking a few times a week is likely. Where in heaven’s name will we find $20 billion to bail out Argentina’s failing economy? That is IF (and only IF) political ally, President Javier Milei of Argentina, wins the upcoming election. I was just wondering if that bailout money could be used instead to offset credits to Americans that are likely to lose, or not be able to afford, their health insurance coverage when the Affordable Care Act expires? That’s the reason for the government shutdown, right? Couldn’t the government be reopened and ACA credits resume, an option that would appeal to both parties? And the IMF can help Argentina out? Just thinking out loud…
A bit of a last minute update. U.S. Farmers are mad, the Democrats are mad, and a huge blowback in Argentina where the offer of aid tied to an election is being viewed as extortion! Oh my goodness! Not going as planned!!!
