FEATURED REVIEW

Down Cemetery Road

by Mick Herron

Down Cemetery Road by Mick Herron is the first book of his Zoë Boehm private investigator stories.

After a neighborhood house explodes and one of the occupants, a young girl goes missing, the main character of the book, neighbor Sarah Tucker, becomes consumed with finding her. Her initial efforts to locate the missing girl uncover a diabolical government network of death and mayhem. Her efforts to find the girl have in fact put her own life in peril.

Sarah turns to Zoë Boehm, a skilled and tough private investigator, to find the girl and learn the reasons behind the explosion. What unfolds is a thrilling and chilling series of events. The characters are imaginative and the story is captivating.

A great read. Hold on for dear life!

So many books, so little time. Right, right - we’ve all heard it many times. Hummingbird's BOOK SHORTS will present book reviews you can read in a minute and capture the essence of the story, thumbnail reviews that hopefully will entice you into your next read. I read constantly. My tastes vary, so I’ll review books that I love, not necessarily current books. Other HB contributors will review books that follow their interests, both newly published and past. All in all, we’ll review books we think are captivating, compelling, unputdownable. If you’re looking for a good book to take to the beach, make that long commute shorter, or curl up with, hopefully our reviews will help you find it. Lynda Bernard
