Just Folks. Cage Free.
When I start a new piece, I don't always know where it's headed. As I work, I am intrigued and often surprised by what is unconsciously revealed and the insights I gain. This is especially true as I add layers to my collages. When I started working on Cage Free, I began with the label from an egg carton. I was thinking about "Cage Free" meaning having no boundaries. I found that for me, it is an unbridled state of being in the wild, which inspires adventure and travel. Of course, “cage free” also brought to mind going braless which is why the bathing suit top appeared.
So what is the takeaway? I believe it is that we set our own parameters on the freedoms we enjoy, and somehow being aware of this, is somewhat freeing, no?
Set yourself free!
