Lynn Blue Band Plays on the North Fork on Saturday!
Whoever said that dreams don’t come true apparently has not met up with the delightful, yet formidable, Lynn Blumenfeld. Known in the East End music world as Lynn Blue, Blumenfeld has realized one of her life long dreams. While keeping her very successful “day job,” Lynn formed her own band four years ago.
Looking back, Lynn notes that she has been singing since childhood and has been involved in music and theater throughout her early years and into and after college. She indicates that she was only part of a band for “one moment,” and well, it has been on her bucket list.
So, after relocating her life out to the East End, establishing herself in business, making friends and connections, Lynn stuck her toe in the water by singing back-up and sitting in with a few notables such as Inda Easton, Cynthia Daniels, Joe Delia, Randolph Hudson and Klyph Black.
Lynn caught the bug big time, and as they say, the rest is history. She got together with core Lynn Blue musicians Dave Portocarerro, who plays lead guitar and vocals, and Jim ‘The Rev” Nanos, bass guitar and vocals. Alex Sarkis is a frequent drummer with the LB band. In keeping with local tradition, other East End musicians frequently sit in with the group including horns and keyboard. If you are going to be on the North Fork this weekend, you are in luck, as the Lynn Blue band is playing at Crabby Jerry’s in Greenport on Saturday from 1:30 – 5:30 p.m. Mike LeClerc will be sitting in on bass, Dan Koontz on keys, and Paul Chapin on drums.

The Lynn Blue band has taken the East End by storm and has built a solid following. The band plays classic rock, folk rock, blues, alternative and original music. They play music all over the East End, year round, including The Montauket, Muse, Gurney’s, The Westlake Fish House, and Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett. Crabby Jerry’s on the North Fork, Baron’s Cove in Sag Harbor, and Wolffer Vineyard in Bridgehampton are among the seasonal summer locations that are added to the year-round schedule.
