Recipe. You Won't Want to Miss This!
A healthy and delicious appetizer or accompaniment to a salad meal. It stays fresh in the refrigerator for at least a week. Ours has never lasted longer!
1 can chick peas, drained
2 cloves of garlic
juice of 1 juicy lemon
4 tbsps. tahini
½ cup water
Cut garlic cloves into halves and place into food processor to chop; push down from sides and add drained chick peas, lemon juice, and tahini. Use the chopping blade to mix, for about a minute.
Add two shakes of your favorite hot sauce; I’ve been using Yucatan Sunshine Habanero Pepper Sauce lately; and ¼ cup of the water.
Pulse blend. Add more water a little at a time until you get the thickness you like. Place hummus in a covered bowl into refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to let flavors meld.
Sprinkle lightly with paprika prior to serving (I use Hungarian Paprika).
Serve with pita that is heated and cut into pieces, and/or crudité for dipping.
Serves 4-6 for appetizers.
We often have a tablespoon with a Greek style salad for lunch.
