Feb 26 Musings & Threads. Hallelujah and Amen.
Hallelujah and Amen. By Lynda Bernard. O Tucson, dear Tucson. Where the sun shines more than 350 days a year. And cold is more like cool, and lasts for days, not months. Where people smile. And ask “how are you?” And mean it. O Tucson, where the humidity is low, and my hair is happy. And where grey isn’t the predominant color of the day. And casual takes on a whole new meaning - as in what you wear is a big “whatever.” I woke up this morning to yet another dark and dreary day. It might be the 7th in a row. I sit in front of a light lamp every day, to help chase away the blues and the blacks. Tucson, O Tucson. Where the colors are a different hue. Lizards dart along the floors. Cactus blossom the most extraordinary flowers. And outdoors is a way of life, not just a word. Where the sun soaks my bones with warmth and chases away the creaks. And where I can buy a bottle of wine in the grocery store. Tucson, dear Tucson, where I’m heading on a jet plane, on Tuesday. Hallelujah and Amen.
