Editor’s Note:  Hummingbird is pleased to present  a collection of quotes curated by Lynda Bernard.  Each week a new quote will be added; there will be no commentary with it, rather the quote will stand alone as food for thought.  Some will be famous, others more obscure.  They might be ripped out of today’s headlines, or possibly sage words from writers we have known over time.

"If you lose your wealth, you have lost nothing;
If you lose your health, you have lost something;
But if you lose your character, you have lost everything."

Attributed to many, perhaps most notably to Billy Graham and Winston Churchill, but also cited in books, as mottos, and on plaques on buildings as early as the 1800s.  Most recently, Sarah Ehrenson viewed a version of this quote on a plaque on a Hindu temple in India, and shared it with us.
