Attributed to many, perhaps most notably to Billy Graham and Winston Churchill, but also cited in books, as mottos, and on plaques on buildings as early as the 1800s. Most recently, Sarah Ehrenson viewed a version of this quote on a plaque on a Hindu temple in India, and shared it with us.
