Just Folks. Bittersweet.
Right now is a great time to be out in nature. You can see, smell and hear the subtle changes happening almost daily as the light is waning and summer has ended. As I looked around my yard, I saw that the bittersweet vine was on its way, already producing yellow berries which turn into red ones, as they transition into fall. And as I thought about it, the bittersweet vine is so aptly named for its timing.
The fall always brings mixed emotions. If you’re like me, you miss the long daylight hours, the beach and spontaneous BBQs, but not the intense heat. The vibrant colors of fall are stunning, yet they also signal the end of the growing season and the impending cold ahead. And with the “back to school” programming ingrained in us, fall feels like a time for closure, reflection, and new beginnings. As we navigate this transition, let’s take a moment to embrace both the beauty and the bittersweetness of this season of change.
